Protect your Practice, Know your Rights

This week, RxLaw Founder Aly Háji presented “Protect Your Practice” to pharmacists in British Columbia and Alberta as part of the Apotex Inc. Speaker Series. Two provinces. Two distinct regulatory environments. One message: know your rights before you need them. BC pharmacists are navigating the new Health Professions and Occupations Act, in force since April 1, 2026. Alberta pharmacists are facing an increasingly active College enforcement posture. Both audiences brought the kind of questions that remind us why we do this work.

We’re grateful to Apotex, Karine Brochu, Anthony Semeniuk, and Ryan Kelly for building a speaker series that puts regulatory education directly in front of the pharmacists who need it most. Initiatives like this close a real gap — most pharmacists encounter regulatory defence for the first time when they’re already under investigation. That’s too late. Programs that reach practitioners before the complaint lands are an investment in the profession. Tomorrow, Aly takes the stage at Pharmacy U Toronto with “Licence on the Line.” If you’re at Pharmacy U, come find us. We’ll be the ones in the cool red jackets.
